In His Image - Family Medicine Residency Program

The In His Image Family Medicine Residency trains physicians during their first three years after medical school. This program is for committed Christians seeking solid family medicine training and who are eager to explore what it means to be a Christian physician with a global perspective. The result: doctors well prepared to practice excellent medicine in a wide variety of settings especially among the medically underserved.

The residents are challenged to experience the breadth of opportunities available around the U.S. and the world as they seek the personal call of God for their lives. The aim of the program is to produce physicians who exercise Christ-like leadership skills, whether in a clinical setting, serving in a church, or working internationally. More than anything else, every graduate will be a person of whom God could say, "This is what a Christian doctor is, and I can move through him or her to touch the hearts of people."

The program is fully accredited and meets all of the ACGME requirements. The residents will be trained by excellent and committed teachers in both large tertiary-level hospitals and in a small rural hospital. The program comprises a strong academic curriculum including all the basic rotations. In particular, the program emphasizes on procedural training, including obstetrics, endoscopy, gynecologic procedures, surgery, and also strive for excellence in computers in medicine and in international health.
